Lavender Monarch. Handwoven super soft looped Merino scarf – lighter than air, baby soft, weighing just under 100g.
This is a bouclé looped Merino base – incredibly soft with fantastic 3D structure. It has been hand dyed in the variegated shades of purple, gold, and brick red. This is an incredibly soft, elegant, high quality wool. Woven in an open sett to allow the Merino to “brush out” and create its halo. The scarf has an almost sheerness to it.
The scarf drapes and is incredibly soft. This would lovely draped over your shoulders or lightly secured with a brooch or pin. Can be worn tied in a French knot, traditional tie, or wrapped around your neck.
The scarf has been hand washed and brushed, and steam pressed.
Materials: Bouclé Looped NZ Merino. Loose fringe. Hand wash only. Minimal iron. Brush when wet, let dry, brush, steam finish.

This one-off piece is Work 253. I rarely weave the exact same cloth or item twice. Every piece is unique and numbered, every creation has a story to tell.
22 micron NZ Merino. Pure brushed Merino yarns are fairly rare — most of the time, the Merino is spun together with another, ‘scalier’ fibre that can support its slipperyness. The brushed-fluffy fibre will be spun into and around the core of a ‘binder’ fibre, in this case nylon.
