Copper Tones. Handwoven scarf in super soft ultra fine NZ Alpaca and Merino.
This NZ wool was hand dyed in a low immersion combination of green, burgundy, and burnt orange. The scarf was woven first, then dyed in the gradient. Using different lace structures creates an almost lattice transparency to the scarf, resulting in a very drapey, soft and elegant woollen scarf.
The scarf drapes and is extremely soft. This would lovely draped over your shoulders or secured with a brooch or pin. Can be worn tied in a French knot, traditional tie, or wrapped around your shoulders.
The scarf has been hand washed and dried, then pressed.
Materials: Ultra fine NZ Alpaca Merino (80% Alpaca 20% Merino). Hand twisted fringe. Hand wash only.

This one-off piece is Work 218. I rarely weave the same cloth or item twice. Every piece is unique and numbered, every creation has a story to tell.
Alpaca fibre has a naturally wonderful handle, a soft and comforting feel that you can wear next to your skin. It is one of the finest natural fibres in the world and has a distinctive texture and sheen that feels soft and smooth. It’s softer than other animal fibres that can feel scratchy, and the final product always reflects that fine quality. Alpaca fibre is warmer and lighter than classic wools and is wind, water, and stain-resistant.
Merino wool comes from our Merino sheep and is renowned for its exceptional properties: its fantastic softness, durability, cooling/heating and breathability. The fibres of Merino are softer, finer and more sensitive than many other fibres – the main difference to other wools.
