Jelly Cake. Handwoven scarf in bright coloured stripes on a base of vanilla – like gumdrops in pound cake.
The scarf is woven in two shades of cotton. The design is a gradient across the scarf in multiple colours, woven in turned twill. Depending on how you tie the scarf it appears brighter or subdued.
The scarf drapes well, is very soft and lightweight. Can be worn tied in a French knot, traditional tie, or wrapped around your shoulders. Cotton gives warm and coolness, depending on the weather. Great for managing windy days, or for cover in the sun.
The scarf has been machine washed and dried, then pressed.
Materials: 100% fine cotton. Hand twisted fringe. Hand wash is always best, but can be machine washed on warm in a lingerie bag to avoid twisting.
Cotton is made from the natural fibres of cotton plants. It is primarily composed of cellulose, an insoluble organic compound crucial to plant structure, and is a soft and fluffy material.
This one-off piece is Work 135. I never weave the same cloth or item twice. Every piece is unique and numbered, every creation has a story to tell.
